Administrative Message October 20, 2005 To: UC Santa Cruz Community From: Denice D. Denton, Chancellor Re: Voter registrationIf you are not registered to vote—and you may have to register again, if you changed address in the past year—you must do so before October 24, in order to vote in the general election on November 8. To register, you may download a voter registration form, in English, Spanish or other language, from the California Secretary of State's website: http://www.ss.ca.gov. You also may obtain a paper copy of the form at your local library or post office. In addition, voter registration cards are available at many locations on campus including McHenry Library, the Bay Tree Bookstore, the Student Health Center, OPERS, and the colleges. Information also is posted on the UCSC website at http://www.ucsc.edu/register_to_vote/. While in no way suggesting how you might vote, I encourage everyone to register and to vote on November 8. Your vote will help determine the outcome of statewide and local initiatives, as well as local races that will affect the economic health and quality of life of our region for years to come.
