Re: Message from Chancellor; Message from UC President Dynes and President Emeritus Atkinson
Dear Colleagues,
Today is the first day in office for UC President Robert C. Dynes. He has prepared a message to the University of California community, and I am pleased to transmit it now on his behalf. www.universityofcalifornia.edu/president/message100203.html

The University of California has been fortunate to experience the outstanding leadership of President Atkinson, who will be a featured speaker at the Kerr Symposium on October 10, and who will be the recipient of the inaugural UC Santa Cruz Foundation medal on October 11. I encourage faculty and staff to attend the Symposium, both for the stimulating discussion as well as to recognize President Atkinson and the others who will be our campus's important guests.
President Dynes will be visiting UC Santa Cruz as soon as a date can be arranged. The visit will be provide an opportunity to showcase the unique distinctions of this campus and to introduce President Dynes to our faculty, staff and students. I will inform you of details of the visit when they are available.
