Re: Death of distinguished faculty member Harry Beevers
Dear Colleagues,
I would like to inform you of the death last week of Harry Beevers, one of the world's leading plant physiologists and a longtime and distinguished member of UCSC's faculty.
Dr. Beevers died on April 14 in his Carmel home at the age of 80.
The many accomplishments of this tremendous scientist are described in a press release (http://press.ucsc.edu/text.asp?pid=484) issued today by UCSC's Public Information Office.
Please join me in expressing condolences to Jean Beevers, Dr. Beever's wife of 54 years; his son Michael Beevers, of Fresno; other family members; and to his many friends.
